About:
Copper’s Peak spans 47 private wooded acres and features 3 rental cabins and Copper’s Mercantile. Each cabin sits on its own private lot divided by 75 feet of trees, offering space, comfort, and amenities that make you feel right at home. Guests enjoy complimentary ice for the day’s ride at Copper’s Mercantile, plus included Wi-Fi. Evenings are perfect around our solar-lit fire pit areas, complete with seating and built-in charcoal grills. Tucked away from the road, our cabins offer a restful night’s sleep. (Please note: riding permits are NOT included and must be purchased through the respective parks.)
Planning a group getaway? Combine all 3 cabins for a total of 18 guest and is ideal for groups wanting time together while still enjoying their own space. Relax on the front porch and take in the sounds of nature: owls calling nearby, deer wandering the woods, squirrels bouncing from tree to tree, and bunnies foraging along the forest floor. On clear days, soak in wide-open blue skies; at night, enjoy breathtaking stargazing under the Plateau sky. Ready for adventure? Hop in your side-by-side and go—we’re closest to Trails 6, 3, and 25 and are located south of Winona.
Our landscaping is currently in progress, with a large floral plan set for 2026 to enhance your future visits. Whether you’re here to ride, unwind, or simply enjoy the peaceful mountain setting, Copper’s Peak welcomes you.
Our Cabins:
Our kitchens are fully stocked with everything you need to cook or bake during your stay, including pizza pans, casserole dishes, muffin tins, cookie sheets, a hand mixer, and grilling tools. We provide individual salt and pepper packets, a selection of sweeteners and powdered creamer, and six medium-roast K-Cup pods per booking. You’ll also find pantry space available for storing your dry goods. Please note that we do not supply cooking oil or charcoal for the built-in charcoal grills.
All bed linens and towels are washed with fragrance-free detergent to accommodate guests with sensitivities. Every linen, including comforters, is washed and sanitized after each stay. The bathroom includes thoughtful essentials in case you forget something, along with a guest-favorite hotel-style amenity set—shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and a bath bar. For added sanitation, we provide hotel-style towel mats to place on top of the bathmats.
Early check-in may be available for guests traveling from out of town and must be approved in advance. If your cabin is still being prepared due to a prior booking, you are welcome to park at the Mercantile, unload, and head to the trails while you wait. Just let us know you’re arriving early so we can give you the Mercantile door code to fill your coolers with ice before riding.
Our mountain location often brings in nighttime fog and humidity, so each cabin includes a dehumidifier for guest comfort. If bothersome, you may turn it off—we do ask that you turn the units back on when you leave the cabin or at check out.
For your comfort, the living room and master bedroom are each equipped with their own mini-split heating and cooling units. These allow you to easily adjust the temperature in each space to your personal preference, ensuring a comfortable environment throughout your stay.
Children:
For our younger guests, we’ve made sure your stay is comfortable and fun. You will find children’s dinnerware in our cabin pantry’s, as well as a highchair, and a travel playpen available in our Mercantile for your convenience. You’ll also find a selection of nostalgic games and family-friendly board games in the TV stands—perfect for creating lasting memories together during your stay. Our living room coffee tabel is rounded without sharp corners for the toddlers just beginning to walk, however, our TV stands and dining tables, master beddroom night stands and dressers, all do have squared corners. Please plan accordingly.
Due to the ice machine/freezer located in the Mercantile, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
For your safety, please do not allow children to wander outside alone, and always be aware of your surroundings when enjoying the outdoors.
The Mercantile:
Our Mercantile offers an ice machine for filling your coolers before a day’s ride, along with extra cleaning supplies, the children’s highchair, and the travel playpen. Guests can access the Mercantile using the entry code provided on the refrigerator doors inside the rental. Mercantile access is reserved for registered guests only.
